Colombia pictures has yet to unveil one of the most talked about movie this season, 2012 will surely make a big hit this 2009! The film began to shoot in August 2008 in Vancouver. 2012 will hit the big screen in November 11, 2009 (premiere) and on November 13, 2009 (domestic). And more to that is the DVD release of 2012 which is scheduled on March 2, 2010.
The film portrays what the Mayan and Sumerian people’s calendars are trying to insinuate. It has been found that their calendars ended with the year 2012. With the aid of modern technology and an impeccable cast, 2012 depicts what the world, as we know it, would end when the clock turns to the 2012. Leading the constellation of stars in the film is none other than John Cusack.
The trailer in itself is enough to satisfy those people who have the eye for three dimensional effects. It is a complex process that only the special effects team were able to manage. Music Score was composed by Harald Kloser and Thomas Wander. The voice behind the song entitled “It ain’t the end of the World” was that of George Segal and Blu Mankuma which was actually featured in the film itself. Behind this successful creation of the film was the director, in the person of Roland Emmerich.
The film received a lot of positive reviews as well as the negative ones. It has been reported by Rotten Tomatoes that 39% of the critics gave positive reviews based on the 212 given reviews. While others praised the computer generated visual effects, some on the other hand were not able to appreciate it.
